Facebook has completely changed its design on the computer here's how to activate the new display

Facebook gets a facelift, and the change is big enough for the social media giant to call this new offer the "new Facebook". This new design comes with major changes: for example, the Notifications tab

is less prominent, and Facebook Watch, Marketplace, and Groups are prioritized.

Facebook said this redesign was a "beta" version, so it is possible to modify these posts before posting them more widely and permanently in the future. It is not yet known when more than 2 billion Facebook users will benefit from this update. Currently, only some users can access it.

If you are one of them, here is how to activate this new display now:

To get started:

  1. Go to Facebook and log in. Then click on the dropdown menu in the upper right corner.
  2. Look for the option to "Switch to the new Facebook" and click on it (if you can't find it, you are not among the users who have the beta of the new screen available).
  3. Immediately, you will be redirected to a completely different version of Facebook.

The welcome screen displays some of the improvements the company has made to its flagship product, including "faster loading times" and "cleaner look and more text".

The biggest news is definitely the possibility to activate the dark mode:

Here's what the new Facebook looks like:

There are obvious differences at first sight, such as larger icons and larger text fonts.
Perhaps the most notable change is the fact that two drop-down lists have been condensed into one list: notifications and friend requests are now listed in the notifications dropdown list.

Profile pages look completely different:

At some point, Facebook will activate this new design around the world. But for now, you can go back to Classic Facebook using the same drop-down menu in the top right that allowed you to access the new version
