Samsung Pay is a special mobile wallet that you will find on new Samsung devices.

This app comes with handy tools to manage your money and pay for your online and store purchases. Getting started is very easy and you will soon need to use this app as your preferred payment method.

What is Samsung Pay?

Samsung Pay is an Android application that works with specific Samsung devices, allowing it to communicate with payment terminals. Are you buying a new dress or having a coffee at your favorite cafe?

You can forget your credit or debit card at home by using the Samsung Pay app instead. Your smartphone can use NFC to pay with any terminal that supports wireless payment with a single click, but that's not what makes it unique.

Not all retailers are looking for time, and many are still using legacy payment terminals that don't support new payment technologies like Apple Pay and Google Pay.

However, Samsung is taking it to the next level by introducing the MST (Safe Magnetic Transfer) technology integrated into its smartphones; So you can pay with any card-accepting device - without the need for wireless compatibility.

MST sends a signal that simulates a black bar on the back of your card, which makes older stations only think that you have manually overcome your card.

How do I set up Samsung Pay?

Start by checking if you have a compatible Samsung smartphone; All Galaxy S6 and Note devices have built-in technology, as well as many Galaxy A devices.

Many Samsung mobile devices also have Samsung Pay for fast payment with your wrist - no smartphone required.
Once you decide that the Samsung smartphone is compatible with Samsung Pay, do the following:

  1. Begin by opening the Samsung Pay app on your device.
  2. Once the application is open on your device, tap the Get Started button.
  3. You will be prompted for a PIN that will be used in the future to protect your information - type it twice for verification.
  4. Tap the Menu button in the top-left corner of the screen, then, in the popup, select the Add credit/debit card option.
  5. Follow the instructions onscreen to complete setup and agree to any terms and conditions.
It is important to note that not all banks currently support Samsung Pay; However, most credit card companies are included, including American Express, Visa, and MasterCard. By default, Samsung Pay is preinstalled on Galaxy devices, but you can easily reinstall it if it is removed at some point.

How do I add Samsung Pay to my smartwatch?

If you have a Galaxy Wearable compatible device, you can add Samsung Pay for safe payments on the go; however, it is necessary to understand that mobile devices only support NFC. Since MST is not supported on Galaxy Wearable devices, you will need to use a payment terminal that supports contactless payments.

To set up Samsung Pay:

  1. Begin by opening the Galaxy Wearable app.
  2. Then tap Samsung Pay on the Home tab.
  3. From here, you can tap the + button in the upper-right corner to add credit or debit cards, similar to on your smartphone.
