PS5 Marvel's Spider Man Miles Morales is an extension not a sequel

Sony's first game on the occasion of the PS5 presentation, Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales brought confusion about its true nature. We know a little more.

PS5 Marvel's Spider-Man

Insomniac Games has just confirmed that Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales is a standalone game. This means that it will not be necessary to launch the episode in 2018 to play this new adventure.

According to Jason Schreier, a reporter at Bloomberg News, the game's layout is closer to Uncharted: The Lost Legacy compared to Uncharted 4.

In 2018, Insomniac Games released exclusively on PS4 a certain Marvel's Spider-Man. The success has been global since Peter Parker's adventures have passed more than 13.5 million copies (number stopped on August 19, 2019, by VGChartz).

Many players were surprised to discover this week what appeared to be a direct supplement to Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales.

An extension rather than a new game?

Simon Rutter of Sony Interactive Entertainment Europe spoke about the game to The Telegraph. It indicates that it is "likely an extension and improvement compared to the previous game."

If this statement remains mysterious enough, this Spider-Man appears to be an independent stretch, somewhat similar to Infamous: First Light.

What we will have to decide is whether the Big DLC will be marketed alone or with the main game released in 2018. Rather we are looking for the first option.

However, this app developed by Insomniac Games will make good use of PlayStation 5 features and technology.

Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales will be released at the end of the year exclusively on the PS5.
